2. What data we collect

2. What data we collect

a) Account and authentication data

Depending on how you create your account, we collect:

If you register with an email address and password:

  • Email address

  • Display name (optional)

  • Password, stored only as a salted cryptographic hash. We never store or have access to your plain-text password

  • A one-time password reset code, stored as a hash, when you request a password reset

If you sign in with Google:

  • Email address

  • Name, as provided by your Google account

  • Profile picture URL, as provided by your Google account

  • The unique account identifier returned by Google

For all accounts:

  • A Famigo user identifier that we generate

  • Your language preference (English or Polish)

  • Account creation and last update timestamps

b) Location data

If you grant location permission, the App collects your precise device location (GPS-level accuracy) in order to show family-friendly places near you and to centre the map on your position.

  • Location is collected only while the App is open and in use. We never collect location in the background.

  • Your coordinates are transmitted to our servers as part of the request that searches for nearby places. They are used to compute that result and are not stored in our database or linked to your account.

  • If you decline the location permission, the App falls back to a default city location and remains fully usable.

  • You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.

c) App usage and analytics data

We operate our own analytics. Analytics data is stored on our own servers and is not sent to Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook, or any other third-party analytics or advertising provider.

For each analytics event we record:

  • The type of interaction (for example: viewing a place, tapping a map pin, opening the photo gallery, using a category filter, saving a favourite, tapping share or navigate)

  • The identifier of the place involved, where relevant

  • Your Famigo user identifier, if you are signed in

  • A persistent device identifier provided by your operating system (the "Identifier for Vendors" on iOS, the "Android ID" on Android). This identifier lets us understand usage by device without requiring an account, and it is not used for advertising

  • A randomly generated session identifier

  • Your platform (iOS or Android) and the App version

  • A timestamp

d) Saved places

When you save a place to your favourites we store the association between your account, the place, and the time you saved it.

e) Technical and server data

Our servers process:

  • Your IP address, in transient form, to apply rate limits and protect against abuse. IP addresses are used for this purpose only and are not stored in our application database or linked to your account

  • Standard server access and error logs, which may include IP address, timestamp, and the request made

f) Data we do not collect

For clarity, Famigo does not collect:

  • Reviews, ratings, comments, or photos submitted by you. The reviews and ratings shown in the App are retrieved from Google Places and are authored by Google users, not by Famigo users

  • Payment or financial information

  • Contacts, calendar entries, messages, photos from your device, audio, or health data

  • Advertising identifiers, and we do not display advertising
